I think it started with the October Fest down Main Street, or the Fireworks on the Conference House lawn.  In the town of Tottenville, Staten Island, New York – that’s where my love of festivals began.

Now, I live in South Carolina, where there is at least one festival every weekend somewhere in this beautiful state. The Lowcountry Shrimp Festival in McLellanville, with the Blessing of the Fleet. The Sumter Iris Festival.  The Pageland Watermelon Festival.  Pecans.  Peaches.  Gullah history … country music … barbecue and beauty queens.  You name it, we’ve got it, and I’m hooked!
